Presentation from NZ’s National Hydrographer
25 August @ 6:00 pm
New Zealand’s National Hydrographer, Adam Greenland, will be in the Wardroom at 6pm on 25 August to give a presentation about the latest developments in nautical charts and navigation.
The last few years have seen a lot of change: a resurvey of Queen Charlotte Sound and Tory Channel, the Christchurch and Kaikoura earthquakes, changes to the way that charts are produced, and increasing use of electronic charts. Adam will talk about all of these areas and more.
Adam is National Hydrographer at Land Information New Zealand (LINZ), the New Zealand Hydrographic Authority (NZHA). He holds a Merchant Navy Deck Officer certificate of Competency, a tertiary qualification in Hydrographic Surveying and Mapping Sciences, and is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Adam has previously held roles at the Port of London Authority, UK, which included Deputy Port Hydrographer.
This event is open to RPNYC members and guests, along with members of the Lowry Bay Yacht Club, Evans Bay Yacht and Motor Boat Club, and other yacht clubs.
The bar will be open and light meals and snacks will be available.
