The what and the why
We all use the harbour and the ocean as our play- and sportsground, a place to soothe our souls and relax, sometimes even as a bar or social location, so it’s only fair if we look after this precious environment.
That’s where the Clean Club programme comes in. This is an initiative to combine efforts around the country (and in association: the world), lead by YNZ and executed by Sailing Clubs and its members – us. It provides structure, guidance and rewards so we all can contribute in a useful and effective way. It alsoĀ aligns with the (draft) vision for our club Shayne is putting together; sustainability and environmentalĀ awareness are very high on theĀ agenda for all of us. We are by no means constrained to the YNZ-recommended activities only and treat this as a starting point to get under way. And as they say, many hands….
Be part of it
…make light work! Keen to get to know more about this initiative and get involved? Head over to the new section on the RPNYC website:Ā Clean ClubĀ and talk to our Clean Club committee members Vicki Connor, Nina Fischer, Paul Rutherford or Conny Rohr.
There’s a lot of small and big items we want to complete, and they span all sorts of areas from organising events, doing resource management audits to comms, website content management and research of educational information. So there’s something in it for everyone to help out with. We love to hear from you if you and hope you all will be part of this journey our Club has embarked on – come and join us!
