We are very, very excited to host Nicole Miller from Explore your Coast at Port Nic for a fundraiser evening on the 19th July to support her incredible work.
On the evening, only will you see the short documentary Seaweed, A Love Story, which dives into Wellington’s hidden kelp forests and the local efforts to protect them, followed by a Q&A session. Nicole will also be cooking up her favourite kina recipes – with a few seaweed sprinkles, of course! It’s a fun chance to see how they’re prepared and try these local delicacies for yourself.
And there’s more: Nicole’s ocean-inspired art will be available for purchase on the night with all profits supporting Explore Your Coast – a fully packed evening!
The bar opens at 5.30pm, with bar food available for purchase. Come along to discover more about Wellington’s coastal marine ecosystems, connect with local ocean conservation efforts, and enjoy a delicious taste of the sea.

She took Seven Sharp video producer James Hope on a snorkel in our local underwater forests and James produced a wonderful segment covering Nicole’s work, community-led restoration, and challenges and hope beneath the waves.
