We’re thrilled to unveil a fresh race format for the 26th Port Nicholson Regatta, designed to enhance participation and enjoyment for all sailors! This year, we’re introducing two distinct divisions: the Open Division and the Harbour Division.
Open Division: Round the Cans Racing and the Wellington Classic
The Open Division will feature traditional round-the-cans racing, alongside the much-anticipated Gallagher Insurance Wellington Classic. This division is perfect for those who thrive on competitive racing and want to test their skills in a lively atmosphere. Whether you’re a seasoned racer or eager to push your limits, the Open Division offers an exhilarating experience on the water.
Harbour Division: A Friendly Alternative
Recognising that not everyone is keen on round-the-cans racing, we’ve introduced the Harbour Division. This division is tailored for those who prefer a more relaxed racing experience, with courses set in the beautiful harbour. It’s a fantastic opportunity for newcomers or those who may feel a bit nervous about more intense competition.
The Harbour Division will also include the Wellington Classic, ensuring that all participants have a chance to compete for the historical prize money while enjoying a more laid-back racing environment.
