Race Day 3 of the Moore Wilson’s Winter Series dawned with a light southerly forecast and the promise of some tactical light weather sailing for the day.
Race Day 2 of the fully crewed Moore Wilsons Winter Series promised a little more breeze than race day 1. With a freshening forecast, the RO Ken Burt opted for a club house start which saw the fleet lining up for a short reach to the first mark followed by a great W/L course.
With a weather pattern that made sailors feel like they were actors in the movie of the same name, the third weekend of the 2014 RPNYC Moore Wilson’s Winter Series turned out to be a “mix, stir and repeat” of the conditions experienced in the series so far.
The RPNYC Moore Wilson’s Winter Series burst into life with a stunning weekends sailing experienced by all those who took to the waters of Wellington harbour for the first of five action-packed race weekends.
{jcomments off}The weather gods were definitely smiling on the organisers of the 2013 Moore Wilson’s Winter Series – with 2 sensational Wellington winter days with the sun shining and the winds delivering idyllic sailing conditions.
Racing was completed over the two days with the first of the two-handed races on Saturday and picture-perfect conditions for the fully-crewed races on Sunday.
There’s always wind in Wellington – yeah right!
Day four of the Moore Wilson’s Winter Series proved to be one out of the box. Thirty yachts with over 200 sailors on board gathered on the start line for what proved to be the best day’s racing yet in the 2012 series.
Race day three of the 2012 Moore Wilson’s Winter Series will go down in history as the great drift off.
