A small but competitive fleet completed the second At Home Race, in windy conditions (too windy for the Offshore to go ahead.) After a club start, the boats reached across to Pt Halswell with close racing between the Y88s Wise Guy, 88% Proof and Whistler 111, and the Farr 1020 Eat My Shorts.
St Laurence was the only boat to fly a spinnaker or gennaker on the leg to Falcon Shoal and was well ahead of the fleet the entire race. The fleet split after rounding Falcon Shoal, with the right hand side seeming to pay off on the beat up to Somes. On the tight reach from Somes to Evans Bay (Mark 8) only Whistler 111 got a kite up and they passed Wiseguy before Wiseguy managed to get through again on the beat and they held on to finish 2nd on line and 1st on PHRF. St Laurence got the double with 1st on Line and Club Handicap, and Marishka was 2nd on both Club Handicap and PHRF.
